Air Release Valve
The air release valve, which is one of the polymer valve types, is a key component in piping and irrigation systems. Its primary function is to discharge trapped air inside pipes and equipment. Typically, in pressurized irrigation pipelines up to 10 inches (250 mm), 2-inch air release valves are applied. Due to their polymeric construction, they offer excellent resistance against corrosion and rust.

Operation of Air Release Valve
The operation of the air release valve is as follows:
- When water enters the pipes, the float inside the polymeric air release valve chamber rises, forcing the air outlet port to close.
- During normal flow, while the pipeline is under pressure, the air outlet remains closed. However, when the pipeline is empty or pressure decreases, the float drops, opening the valve. This allows air to enter the pipeline and compensate for the vacuum created.
- The discharge of trapped air through the air release valve not only improves system performance but also extends the service life of pipes and fittings.
